On the weekend of October 13-14, the Queen’s Sailing Team travelled to King’s Point, NY to compete in the Nevin’s Cup Regatta. The host school, the United States Merchant Marine Academy, ran a smooth and efficient regatta and completed all racing for both the FJs and 420s on the Saturday.
The A fleet sailors Scott Gittens and Marc de Verteuil were able to acquire 4 first place finishes which helped lead to an overall A fleet win. The B fleet sailors Clara Gravely and Kayla Simmons also produced consistent excellent results to give the Queen’s team and overall 3rd place tie.
This regatta served as a great practice against some of the best teams in the league leading into the mid-season league championship in 2 weeks.
