McGill Open – September 26-27th, 2015:

This weekend the Queen’s sailing team took to the 401 and headed to Montreal to face off against a number of Canadian schools at the Royal St. Lawrence Yacht Club.

After light breeze on the first day and some great racing from both boats in the fleet, Queen’s led after four races having two first place finishes. After a short lunch break, afternoon racing was called off due to the light breeze.

During the second day of racing, Queen’s started the morning off with a first and second place finish in the first of four races in a light breeze. By the second race, the St. Lawrence had filled in and three more races were run in a moderate wind. After a successful protest, Queen’s took first place at the McGill Invitational. A big congratulation to Skippers Jonah Burke-Kleinman, and Jackie Muru and crew Grant Goldberg and Cole Robertson.
