Queen’s sent sailors to the Webb Institute on Long Island on May 10-11 weekend to sail at the Engineers Cup.
Nick Schwenger skippered with Jonah Burke-Kleinman in A fleet, while Sam Thompson drove with Nick Wright in B fleet.
The weather was a beautifully sunny 26 C, with 6-8 knots of breeze on Saturday and a very light 2-5 knots Sunday.
The sailors shook off a winter of rust, getting back into boats for the first time this year. They sailed well to a great 3rd place finish.
Sailing ended early on Sunday after a Queen’s 1st place finish in A fleet, which would have vaulted them into 2nd place, but it could not be counted as the rotation was not completed.
Overall, it was a great weekend of sailing at the always enjoyable Webb Institute, who ran the regatta well.
