Another season comes to a close.

QST sailed in the MAISA Club Championships hosted by Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia.

The teams raced out of the Old Dominion University Sailing Center on Chesapeake Bay.

Heather Richardson and Hilary Grantmyre represented Queen’s in a very competitive A-fleet, with Anders Brown and Sean Magee-Saxton racing in B-fleet.

On Saturday, the wind was blowing between 15-18 knots, and all of the teams had challenges with the cold weather. The team worked hard, with sailors in both fleets achieving consistent results throughout the day.

Sunday brought new challenges with an extremely shifty 5-8 knots of breeze. Despite the trying conditions, the team sailed well and even achieved a third place finish by Heather and Hilary.

The team placed 10th overall, with an extremely close finish behind University of Buffalo.

QST would like to thank KYC members for their continued hospitality and support throughout the season. We are looking forward to another successful season next year!
